B.I.H. was a very short lived hardcore band based in Dalton, Massachusetts and existed from September of 1999 until about February of 2000.
The band was formed by Vocalist Jason Shea and guitarists Dennis "The Deze" Shea, Eric Lenski and bassist Scott Rocheleau. They recruited drummer David Grant and held their first practice in the Hume sister's garage. Halfway through practice Eric left and Rick "The Frog" Gallagher stepped in on second guitar and the band wrote and laid down their first (and only) track. With Dave being tied up in several bands and commitments the band failed to practice again with that line-up. In fact the band lasted just one more practice after Jesse "Big Cheese" Salvini declared himself band manager and recruited a new drummer. Jay, Deze, Scott, Rick and Jesse drove down to Chester, Massachusetts and jammed with drummer Derek (formerly of Fuzzy Mellow). Between the distance and lack of chemistry in the style, the band did not pursue adding Derek into the band. Following that Jesse set up a meeting with drummer Jason Smegal at his home in Dalton. This was not a jam session, the guys just met with him and listened to him play. And while he showed some skills and potential, he was not familiar with hardcore and was not added to the band's line up. The band toyed around with ideas but it faded away shortly after. This was the very short history of the band.
This particular track came from the first practice session and was recorded live to tape recorder in Jess and Liz Hume's garage on September 27, 1999 and the same version is used on both tracks. The vocals were added in Jay's bedroom with basic computer equipment and zero recording knowledge on January 14, 2000. Two different vocal tracks were done. Both music and vocals were recorded in Dalton, Massachusetts.
"This was the first band I was in that had any form of seriousness. I honestly thought we were gonna build a repertoire of songs and play a shitload of shows, but that never happened. haha. It's been sitting on a tape for years rotting away, but when I listen back on it now I find the lyrics slightly embarrassing but I still love the track these guys wrote and always wished we genuinely had a chance to record it. Anyway, I've decided to put it out there and let every one hear the roots of what, in a way, turned in to Throwing Aces!" - Jay of JHP
This track has never been released before and has only been heard by a few people.
